The real Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO was a specialized silhouette racer entered into the 1989 IMSA GT Championship by Audi of America, driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck. Built around a Group B quattro platform with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain, its 2.2-liter turbocharged R5 flat-five engine produced an astonishing 720 horsepower. The car dominated, winning seven of thirteen races — though Audi narrowly lost the championship to Roush Racing. The quattro GTO has since achieved near-mythical status among IMSA collectors and enthusiasts of the quattro era. The black finish on this release gives the car a sinister, race-ready appearance.
